Random Thoughts vol.0
A post that was supposed to be published yesterday, but it was eaten by “marmagka”! lol (my non-greek speaking friends ask me and you’ll get your answers!). Anyway, it’s never too late for random thoughts that make no sense…
It’s a quiet Monday night. One of the nights that I have the pleasure to return home a bit earlier than usual and relax in front of the pc screen (weird, pathetic, geeky, miserable and other similar adjectives you can think of fit here) by enjoying the things that I cannot enjoy during the rest of the hours of the day sitting in front of the (office’s) mac. And these things may seem of minimum importance (deleting application requests on facebook, reading comments and journals on deviantArt, comparing the various online savings account that UK banks offer, reading the news in in.gr, watching the latest and increasingly weird videos that Preppy uploads, spreading online “holas” to the few this night msn friends online, listening for 40th time this week to monika’s songs and …phew…. other things) but as part of a combined process called “killing time online” they all contribute to going to bed satisfied having that feeling that a usual working day can be equally positively busy as a weekend day. These one-two last hours of Monday offer me enough time to keep up with my online “setup”… the one established but always maturing in the last 27-15=12 years. Simply put, it’s the illusive or not idea that I still have time to explore and be updated. Time to even update this blog! Obviously, my writing skills are inadequate to fully explain what I want to say but I’m sure that people around my age having a similar daily schedule with me have felt the same.
Please raise yours hands
And the result of this long intro is that after I’ll have finished writing these lines I’ll be on my bed feeling full of today. And that’s good for the next day, and the day after that and the next and the ne x t. Because I can stay till very late at the office tomorrow (very common for a Tuesday) but not worrying enough that I need to catch up with the things inside which my online persona lives. Things that remind me of the old “student” days. Things that along with the present, guide me to do even more interesting things, meet more compatible to myself people and have a better time. Surprisingly, most of my current friends are people I met behind a nickname, a blogspot address, a forum, a ‘marketing-ly called’ social network. Not that many years ago I would consider that strange and probably wouldn’t be supportive of the idea, but one positive thing of me is that I don’t hesitate trying things because I don’t think a lot. And this lack of deeper brainstorming has indeed proved positive. More and more “enjoyable” friends, less time for the rest ones, better times! Am I only touching the surface? Probably, but who cares? Reminder: I don’t think a lot. Maybe that’s the hint to constantly feeling happy. I may not be, but I don’t know it. Hahahahh. How cool is that? At least this post is coming to an end. And that makes me happy too; Time is 12:46am and coincidently Morrissey is singing “In the future when all’s well”. Time for bed. Wish everybody all well (meaning the best).

Music Update
Time to update my blog with something that my readers will find interesting, exciting and catchy… What can that be? What should I write for? Maybe about how busy these last days have been at the office or maybe about the (welcoming) surprises I had since Monday and on? I guess this news won’t satisfy my idea. Therefore, and since listening to music has not been part of my everyday life in the last 10 days, I’ll just post the videos that caught my attention (along with my ear’s attention, eeerr… my two ears’ attention please). So let’s start…
Brand new and great! “This Boy’s in Love” by “The Presets“. They are Australians. Remember the name in a few weeks. I’ll test you… (meaning that in my opinion this is a nice happy dance tune that will probably be a big hit in the following months). I like a lot the darkness of the video too. Maybe the song sounds a bit 90s but the video doesn’t look 90s at all.
You know “Justice“, or you should… No? Shame on you! (don’t bite DJart!) Anyway, I’ll excuse you for now but this is the second (correct me if I’m wrong) official video from their first album with the cross. One of my favourite albums for 2007. “Justice” are considered a really important group of the best electro scene worldwide at this moment (…Eiffel Tower, Bordeaux, Le Louvre, Carla Bruni… congratulations for saying French!) . You may not know why but you can take a small taste of their “art” by pressing the play button 68pixels below. In any case, the video is just awesome! Kudos to whoever made it.
And let’s continue with the two (personally) most anticipated albums of the last months; in no random order: Moby’s new “Last Night” and Portishead’s new (after 10 years please!!!) “3″. I got really excited when I first listened to “Last Night”. Now, after approximately 20 times of listening to it I can be less subjective and say that it’s a very nice album and in my opinion similar to “Play” (although not as good) and superior to the average “18″ and “Hotel”. In other words, TGI Fridays and Moby created an album based on his great old style (of “Play” and before). My favourite track is number seven (.07) called “Hyenas” but since no video is available for that right now, I’ll let you enjoy the again brand new video of “Alice” which is the second released single from “Last Night”. P.S. Visually, one of the most “explosive” videos I’ve ever seen! Just live the weed in the drawer…lol
And for the end the amazing “Machine Gun” from Portishead. I always had believed that you need to be patient and listen to the whole track before judging it. This is the absolutely best example for me to confirm that. I could never imagine how an industrial iterative beat coming out of a drum machine and Beth’s depressive and tired vocals can create such a great tune! I shouldn’t think the opposite though… we are talking about Portishead! Judge for your own but please have in mind that the recorded studio version of the album sounds much better.
Have a nice weekend…
